Tom Hanks is a respected Hollywood filmmaker and Actor. A veteran in the film industry, his films have grossed over USD$9.0 billion worldwide.
He was born on July 9, 1956, in Concord, California, to Amos Mefford Hanks (father), and Janet Marylyn (mother). His father Amos Mefford Hanks, was cooked and traveled a lot, while his mother Janet Marylyn – also known as Frager – was a hospital worker. His parents divorced in 1960.
During his early life, Tom Hanks attended Skyline High School, before moving on to attend, Chabot College and California State University.
Tom Hanks has been married twice. In 1978, he got married to Samantha Lewes. His marriage to Samantha Lewes, lasted nine years, but they separated in 1987. Shortly after, in 1988, he got married to Rita Wilson and has to be with her ever since. He has four children. His first child Colin Hanks was born on 24 November 1977. Also, his second child and first daughter, Elizabeth Hanks, was born on 17 May 1982 and then, his third child is Chet Hanks, born on 4 August 1990.
