The Burj Khalifa is a high skyscraper in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE); it is officially the tallest building in the world. A modern-day marvel, the cost of building the tower is estimated at USD $1.5 billion.

The building has 163 floors (154 usable), and a total floor area of 309,473 square meters. There are also 57 elevators (lifts) in the building. On 6 January 2004, construction of the building started; on 4 January 2010, construction finished. The Burj Khalifa has a height of 828 m (2716.535 ft).

Shanghai Tower is a building located at 501 Yincheng Middle Rd, Lujiazui, Pudong, Shanghai; and is the second tallest building on earth. The building has 128 floors – 5 which are below ground. It also has 106 lifts (elevators); the total floor area in the building is 380,000 square meters.

Jun Xia – a Chinese architect – designed the plans for the building. Also, Shanghai Construction Group was awarded the contract to build the tower.

Abraj Al-Bait Clock Tower is a tall skyscraper located in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. Construction of the tower started in 2004 and was completed in 2011. It was opened to the general public in 2011.

There are 96 lifts (elevators) in the tower. The cost of building the Abraj Al-Bait Clock Tower is US$15 billion. It is officially the 3rd tallest building in the world.

Ping An Finance Centre is the 4th tallest building on earth. Located at No. 5033 Yitian Road, Futian District, Shenzhen, Guangdong, China; its coordinates are 22.536399°N 114.050446°E.

There are 80 elevators and 115 floors in the building; the total floor area in the center is 385,918 square meters. The tower has also been used by thrill-seeking daredevils – Keow Wee Loong (Malaysia) climbed to the top of the incomplete Ping An Finance Centre in January 2015, and share the video footage on YouTube.

The Goldin Finance 117 with a height of 596.6 m (1,957 ft), is the second tallest building in China and the tallest building in the world. Although the maximum height of the building has been reached, the building is still yet to be completed. Completion of the building is estimated at 2020.

Lotte World Tower is a building in South Korea. with a height of 554.5 meters (1819.226 feet), it is the 5th tallest building on earth and also the tallest building in Seoul and South Korea. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on May 2009; but construction started in earnest on February 1, 2011.

Guangzhou CTF Finance Centre is a skyscraper in China, with a height of 530 meters (1738.845 ft). Construction of the tower began on 29 September 2009; and finished in 2016. The tower has 95 lifts (elevators) and 111 floors (5 of which are below ground).

The Guangzhou CTF Finance Centre has a total floor area of 5,464,633 square foot.

Tianjin Chow Tai Fook Binhai Center also is known as Tianjin CTF Finance Centre, is a skyscraper in China with a height of 530 m (1738.845 ft). The building is actually the same height as Guangzhou CTF Finance Centre, but is number 8, due to the fact that the Guangzhou Finance Centre is older than it. Construction of the Center started in 2013 and is expected to finish in 2018.

With a height of 528 m (1732.283 ft), the China Zun is the 9th on this list. Located in China (as the name implies), its coordinates are 39° 54′ 45″ N116° 27′ 58″ E. It was designed by Farrells (British urban design firm) and Kohn Pedersen Fox (American architectural firm).

The skyscraper has a floor space of 427,000 square meters and is expected to be completed in 2018.

Formerly known as the Taipei World Financial Center, the Taipei 101 is currently the 10th tallest building on earth. Construction of the building began in 1999 and finished in 2004. With a height of 508 m (1666.667 ft), it surpassed the Petronas Towers, to become the world’s tallest building, before it was surpassed by the Burj Khalifa in 2010.

Shanghai World Financial Center is the 11th tallest building on earth, with a height of 492 m (1614.173 ft). Completed in 2008, the center was developed by Mori Building Company (Japanese firm) and designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox (American firm).

About USD $1.2 billion, was used in building the Shanghai World Financial Center. The building has 91 lifts (elevators), 33 escalators and 101 floors – 3 of which are below ground. The total floor area in the building is approximately 381,600 square meters.

International Commerce Centre is a skyscraper, located in the southern part of Hong Kong. Completed in 2010, the center has a height of 484 m (1587.927 ft). Sanfield Building Contractors Limited was the main contractor in charge of building the tower.

The building has 108 floors (4 which are below ground), 83 elevators (lifts), and a total floor space of 274,064 square meters.

Lakhta Center is a skyscraper with a height of 462 m (1515.748 ft). It is located in Lakhta, Saint Petersburg, Russia. Completion of the building is expected to finish in 2018.

The building has 87 floors and 34 lifts (elevators). The building cost US$2.5 billion, to build. It is the tallest building in Lakhta, the tallest building in Russia, and the tallest building in Europe.

Located in Vietnam, the Landmark 81 is a 461.2 m (1513.123 ft) skyscraper. Completed in 2018; it is owned by Vingroup.

The building has 450 rooms, 81 floors, and about 34 elevators. The total floor area in the building is 241,000 square meters.

Changsha IFS Tower T1 is a skyscraper in China with a height of 452.1 m (1483.268 ft). Wong Tung & Partners – a Hong Kong-based engineering firm – designed the plans for the building. East China Architecture Design & Research Institute, engineered the building into life.

The Changsha IFS Tower T1 is the 15th tallest building on earth. It is also the 8th tallest building in China.

The Taipei 101 (formerly the Taipei World Financial Center), surpassed the Petronas Towers to become the world’s tallest building.

Exchange 106 with a height of 445.5 m (1461.614 ft), is the 20th tallest building in the world. The last in the list of the Top 20 tallest buildings in the world, it is by no means short.

Located at Tun Razak Exchange, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, the building should be completed in 2018. Exchange 106 has a floor space of 453,835 square meters; it also has 106 floors.

Zifeng Tower is a skyscraper in China, with a height of 450 m (1476.378 ft). It wasn’t always called the Zifeng Tower, first of all, it was known as the Greenland Square Zifeng Tower (Greenland Center Zifeng Tower), also it was known as Nanjing Greenland Financial Center.

The building has 66 floors (5 of which are basement floors), 54 lifts (elevators) and a total floor space of 1,480,350 sq ft.
