Shishapangma Information

Shishapangma also known as Gosainthān, is the 14th highest peak on earth. It is part of the Jugal Himalaya mountain range. Its parent mountain is Cho Oyu (the sixth highest mountain on earth). It is also the least tall of the 14 eight-thousanders. Also, Shishapangma height is 8027 m (26335.3 ft).

The summit of Shishapangma was first reached, by Chinese climber Xǔ Jìng et al, on  2 May 1964. The summit was first reached in winter, on 14 January 2005, by  Piotr Morawski and Simone Moro).

Shishapangma (Gosainthān) has claimed the lives of mountaineers. On 24 September 2014, Andrea Zambald (Italian mountaineer) and Sebastian Haag (German mountaineer), were killed on the mountain by an avalanche. On May 3, 2018, Boyan Petrov (Bulgarian mountaineer), disappeared from the face of the mountain. It is estimated that about thirty (30), people have died on the mountain.
