Shishapangma, also known as Xixabangma, is the 14th highest mountain in the world. It stands at an elevation of approximately 8,027 meters (26,335 feet) above sea level. Shishapangma is located in the Langtang Himal range of the Himalayas, in the Tibet Autonomous Region of China. The mountain is notable for being the only 8,000-meter peak entirely within Chinese territory. Shishapangma is renowned for its relatively straightforward climbing route compared to other peaks of similar elevation, making it a popular choice for mountaineers seeking to summit one of the world’s highest peaks. Despite its accessibility, climbers still face significant challenges due to high altitude and harsh weather conditions.

Shishapangma also known as Gosainthān, is the 14th highest peak on earth. It is part of the Jugal Himalaya mountain range. Its parent mountain is Cho Oyu (the sixth highest mountain on earth). It is also the least tall of the 14 eight-thousanders. Also, Shishapangma height is 8027 m (26335.3 ft).

The summit of Shishapangma was first reached, by Chinese climber Xǔ Jìng et al, on  2 May 1964. The summit was first reached in winter, on 14 January 2005, by  Piotr Morawski and Simone Moro).

Shishapangma (Gosainthān) has claimed the lives of mountaineers. On 24 September 2014, Andrea Zambald (Italian mountaineer) and Sebastian Haag (German mountaineer), were killed on the mountain by an avalanche. On May 3, 2018, Boyan Petrov (Bulgarian mountaineer), disappeared from the face of the mountain. It is estimated that about thirty (30), people have died on the mountain.
