Franklin Center (Chicago) is a skyscraper, located at 227 West Monroe Street, Chicago, Illinois with a height of 307 m (1007.22 ft). Plans to build the center began as far back as 1982, but construction started in earnest in 1986; construction finished in 1989.

Mayfair Construction/Blount International was awarded the contract to build the Franklin Center. Also, American architect Andrian D. Smith, and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (American construction firm) designed the building. Furthermore, William F. Baker – an American structural engineer and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill erected the building.

The total floor area in the building is One million six hundred and ninety-nine thousand, nine hundred and eighty-seven (1,699,987), square-foot. Also, it has 60 floors and about four hundred (400) rooms.

In 1997, The Wall Street Journal listed the Franklin Center as one of the top ten most valuable properties in America. In fact, In 1992, it was voted as the best new building in Chicago. Finally in 1998, FIABCI International included the building as one of the best office properties in the world.

The building has many killer features. It has a 650 seater restaurant inside and a lobby that extends throughout the entire length of the building.
